I usually don’t even want to move when I get my period, but these movements actually help relieve my cramps. You can do this with a pillow (or even a heat pack) under your lower back if it helps ❤️ Let me know how it goes if you try them!

Because I use belly dance as a somatic practice, when I feel the music in my body, my brain turns off. So I guess the easy answer is that I only dance to songs that trigger me—whether it's anger, joy, grief, excitement—if it makes me feel, I don't need words to explain. My body does the talking❤️
