I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to bundle up tomorrow morning and walk at the arboretum in the bitter cold (8). I didn't get to go Sunday, and I'm not going this Sunday (it will be even COLDER [-2]), so I want to go. But there might be some snow involved tomorrow too, so I guess I'll just see.

Someone who was in my ESL endorsement cohort friend requested me on fb. It's weird because that ended three years ago, her fb name is Katie Marie (no last name! But I remember people because I'm weird), and she doesn't even look like she did during those classes (most of which were online).

My former art teacher colleague is retiring this year, and she always takes students to the Art Institute. For her last trip, she dressed as the lady in American Gothic! 🤣

All the network principals and director were in my office for some reason while I was doing a grade level change & having Ss help me swap out tubanos for Orff and I’m thinking, “Get the EFF out of my way!” But also thinking, “Good, they can see how difficult it is to be a music teacher on a cart!”

Today was what I call the Ultimate Hump Day. Not only did we get over the hump in the exact middle part of the week, we are got over the hump in the exact middle part between Thanksgiving and winter break.

I, somehow in the span of an hour, need to do kindergarten dismissal, get to the place where I’m meeting the crush for drinks, do a Zoom meeting for staffing in my car, and go inside to meet the crush for drinks. Let’s see if I can do all that.

In one 1st grade class today, I had to send two boys home because they threw up, and call for support for another boy who was hitting, kicking, and not listening to any directions. They don’t pay me enough.

A frolleague's birthday was yesterday, and she wasn't at school. When I gave her belated wishes today, I asked if she did something fun on her birthday. She said that NO, she had jury duty! omg, that sucks!

The place we sang at yesterday posted photos of us on their fb page. My principal shared it on our fb page because they tagged my school. But she didn't say anything to me about it!

I ordered two shirts a couple of weeks ago, and they came in the same package last week. Unfortunately, neither of them fit, one of them because it was the wrong size. Today, I received them both again, one in one package in my mailbox, and the other in another package in the package room.

Three (out of 12!) of my chorus students did not show up to rehearsal or the performance yesterday. They all returned notes that said they would be there and that they had rides. And they sent no notification that they had to miss. It’s really frustrating.
