PEF is a labor union representing more than 55,000 professional, scientific and technical workers in New York State. We are a national affiliate of AFT & SEIU. President Wayne Spence has led the union since 2015.
Yesterday Region 10 Coordinator Tamara Martin, along with PEF organizer Darryl Stevenson, Health & Safety Specialist Michael Marquez, and Field Rep Rosa Arenas, spent time at the Bronx DMV. They were able to engage with Administrative Law Judges and PEF members from the area.

The final PEF Executive Board meeting of 2025 is underway in Albany, with the newest board member, Nick McAndrew, Seat No. 460 at the Department of State, sworn-in to conduct the business of the union.

PEF got in the holiday spirit over the weekend and this week by handing out books to kids at the Little North Pole celebration in Rockaway, N.Y.

Friday evening PEF VP Randi DiAntonio, Region 3 Coordinator Leisa Abraham, members and PEF staff enjoyed a night at the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) Awards in Rochester. We are proud to support and stand with you in the fight for workers' rights and justice, CBTU!
It's a full house at PEF HQ for Region 8 Stewards training, with 50+ member leaders from 19 agencies learning the many roles of the steward, health and safety practices, the grievance process, discipline and discharge, organizing, and other important aspects of the PS&T contract.

The PEF Labor-Management Advisory Council met today at union HQ to discuss health and safety issues, educational benefits under Article 15, and the impact of federal budget cuts. PEF VP Bruce Giddings chaired the meeting, which included LM chairs and PEF Field Services staff from across the state.
