JB Hifi staff: and what was your preorder for?

Me: in ghost pokemon leggings, with a Gengar handbag, on the day the @teamrazer.bsky.social Gengar headset preorders come out in Aus: 🧍
iz, a person with long blonde hair and a black mask, stands like a statue against a yellow wall, there’s high contrast with the wall against their purple leggings covered in ghost pokemon, their bright purple Gengar shaped backpack dangling from their right hand, and their big black fluffy coat and tall boots. Iz holds a set of the Razer Kraken Kitty Gengar headphones in box up against a dark Melbourne city skyline as if in triumph. The Ferris wheel in the background is lit up in purple as well.

this just in, even when in a group of workmates I remain a menace at escape rooms (we had a team building day and together we broke the monthly record for that room)

she’s BEAUTIFUL 🤩

this is the day we brought her in, and I have since also successfully got the little monstera into a pot with drainage holes and brought it back to life too ☺️

Working at @captainpatchit.bsky.social ‘s cosplay repair again at @ozcomic-con.bsky.social!

And got to briefly meet and talk with Amy Parris, the costume designer on ST. Stoked is an absolute understatement 🤩

something is in the air at the moment, I spoke to work about being able to put a personal post bed sewing machine in the workroom if I bought one (wanted one for years but don’t have space in my home studio) and tell me why the most gorgeous one just popped up on marketplace?! 🥰

Shout out to @caaaaate.bsky.social for sending me her copy via sisterhood of the travelling streamer friends, it has been excellent stress relief up until THIS FUCKING LEVEL 🤣

I swear no level in any video game has made me want a surgical revision on my hand more than To The Beat in Astro Bot 🤣 🤖 💀

Anyway, thank you to my friend Adrian for asking me to NPC at a social parlour LARP giving me an excuse to wear this garb again, and ty to the kind folks at Calligo Mundi for having me! It was a delightful evening 🥰

Naturally the only photos I have my chemise is pulled up because I was cold 🥲

It’s been so long since I’ve got into full corsetry and cage crinoline, and almost as long since I’ve had such a lovely photo of me working taken! (I had to repair a loop for the waist tapes).

The fit has changed on me a lot since I made these garments, but I’m trying to give myself grace ☺️
A warm toned photo from the left side of Iz, a femme individual, sitting at a glass table hand-sewing a corset cover. She is perched on the edge of a chair in a large taffeta skirt and cage crinoline underneath, and is wearing a corset and chemise. Tools litter the table - ribbon, scissors, safety pins, a pair of snips on a lanyard, a teacup with a thimble in it - as well as a single red rose for Valentine’s Day.

A similar photo to the first, but taken over her right shoulder. She is leaning slightly further forward and is concentrating on reconnecting the waist tape loop on the inner body of the corset cover top. The boning supporting centre front of the top on the table in front of her is clearly visible.

In the background a warmly lit open doorway and a mossy rug in the lounge room can be seen.

It’s a win for the sword loving sapphics!!! 🥰 ⚔️ 🔥
iz, an excited looking femme with a braid in their blonde hair, shows off their Chappell Roan tee - it’s grey, and features Chappell in her armoured look from the VMAs. Iz looks happy and maybe a little bit “I told you so”, she wears a sword necklace and is clearly vibing to the music

Happy new year. Started with a bang by going to see Yayoi Kusama’s works at NGV Melbourne with the family!

I love trying to dress sympathetically to the artworks I’m in a gallery to see, taking inspiration from Stefan Draschan, so I thrifted this spotty dress a few weeks back! I think it works ❤️
In the corner of a bright red mirrored room full of white polka dots, a Yayoi Kusama infinity room, a femme person in a black mask stands wearing a black dress with large polka dots on it, on theme. They have one ankle tucked behind the other with high heeled black ankle boots, a black bag that echoes the polka dot motif through a circular gold handle, and a lariat necklace that also appears polka dotty at a distance. Their earrings are pumpkins. They hold one hand up by their face to frame it.

Inflatable red polka dotted shapes fill the room. A technicolor fever dream - this mirrored Yayoi Kusama infinity room is full of inflatable tentacle shapes, lit from within in various colours, predominantly blue, and covered in black polka dots. The effect of the mirrors makes it appear the tentacles go on forever. A femme person in a black mask and a black dress with large white spots takes a photo in the mirrored wall to the left of frame, though she appears small compared to the scale of the tentacles. A person in a black dress with large white spots looks upward in awe against a backdrop of a room of bright yellow with black spots; the mirrored wall is cut into panels giving the appearance of a window frame. This piece is the outer room of Yayoi Kusama’s installation artwork called The Spirit of Pumpkins Descended From The Heavens. The same femme person in a spotty dress takes a photo in the reflection of a convex circular mirror. In the reflection you can see the walls are dotted in these mirrors in an infinite recursion of spots, a modern update on Yayoi’s Narcissus series.

Camping my username here for the eventual exodus from Xitter! Here’s a sample of what I do: I’m Iz, I’m an industrial machinist of over a decade, a patternmaker, a bespoke costumier, a trained standby, and I’m based in Naarm, Melbourne.

Pleased to meet you ☺️
Iz, a person wearing a black mask and dressed in all black to match, stands smiling at the camera from behind a leg mannequin with an upside down tutu on it. They hold snips in their left hand and thread and an awl in their right, working on the hand shanking process holding all layers of the tutu together.

The lanyard around their neck reads “The Australian Ballet” and they have a pronoun pin reading “she/they” on it. Iz stands watchfully as a cosplayer, AKWirru, in his Monster Hunter cosplay, an impressive sight made of blue leather with red accents, appears to be posing for a photoshoot by a waterfall. She is dressed all in black with a black backpack full of costume kit, and her crossed arms mean that her amputated pinky of her right hand is visible where the rest of her fingers wrap around her left elbow. A LARPer in a fabulous red greatcoat made of genuine leather stands orating in a tavern. The coat has a false front made of white leather with gold soutache braid, with a matching stand collar edged in gold and black braid. Black and gold trim sewn in loops on the long sleeves indicate this character is an Admiral.

The photo is credited to Shattered World LARP and Jacob Palmer Photography.

Iz made the greatcoat to her bespoke measurements! A LARP character sits with his back to the camera, the sun catching on the purple velvet of his 1680-1800 era cutaway coat jacket. Gold braid and appliqué adorn the shoulders in a floral looping pattern, as well as the undersleeve, front edge, and pocket flap. Both the pocket flap and standing collar are edged in gold braid; the effect is rather grandiose in nature. The edge of a stiff cuff is visible at the bottom right of frame, also edged in gold.

The character appears to have gems embedded in their bald head, and their black and gold matches the gold of the coat.

Iz made this coat to their bespoke measurements and delivered it interstate during the pandemic and lockdowns with special permission from DHHS!
