My writing advice for the day is as follows: forego your socialization. Remember that in the literary space, vulnerability, even uncertainty and the most socially unacceptable thoughts are massive elements of the writers voice. Many writers are scared to allow themselves that kind of freedom.

We focus too much on difficultly and length as a determinate for quality writing nowadays. Take me back to the days when a 60k word epic poem could change the world and was written so that all could appreciate it.

Something I learned writing my newest unreleased book is that, when you feel the oppressive weight of your own ideas, remember to look for answers inward. We don’t always need to go reaching for reference and should rely of intuition more often.

Whenever you’re stressing about word count, remember that Paradise Lost is somewhere in the 60-80k range. You don’t need millions of words to express something meaningful.
