Used to make daft LEGO films. Too old and tired for all that malarkey now. These days I just look at daft things that other people have made.
I don't believe in judging a book by its cover but I'm perfectly happy to judge the cover on its own and this one's amazing.

Also I really want to learn about Japan's space programme now.

Reeling at the #DoctorWho season 2 finale. Amazing scenes. So if the meddling monk has a TARDIS of his own, does that mean...?

The only way this works is if it's about those poor soldiers in the stalled convoy that you run into on the way to Stormveil. Basically Dog Soldiers but instead of a werewolf it's a scrawny guy in a loincloth with a sword three times bigger than him.

Well I guess I know what I'm watching tonight
Singin’ in the Rain was released in theaters on this day in 1952 ☔️

Here we are again.

Ulrich Seidl sniggering at sex people, that thing with the cat that we all like, Švankmajer on dreams, and a sideways look at life in a post-apocalyptic bunker at the end of the world.

Just so my feed isn't completely filled up with bloody letterboxd posts, here's two views of our cat Moo, the queen of stealth, waiting to pounce. See if you can spot her.

Ray Milland saves civilisation by socking folk in the jaw, an old French guy gets to grips with his Adobe Premiere presets, a wild gender-swapped Turkish take on Hamlet, and a Thai adaptation of 410 consecutive tweets made by a teenage girl over 6 months.

You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have watched him in the original Turkish.

It's #LetterboxdFriday 📽️ #LastFourWatched

A bad week in the real world but a pretty good one for films, with more gonzo Italian mayhem than you can shake a bloody knife at. So that's something.

Time for #LetterboxdFriday 📽️ #LastFourWatched again

This week I have mostly been watching Tod Slaughter sleazing his way through another torrid melodrama, Robert Eggers' Twilight prequel, a mostly silent lighthouse-based Freudian fugue, and the Czech precursor to Red Dwarf's Backwards episode.

I was going to watch a Lynch film last night but couldn't face it. Went for something equally classy from a different auteur instead.

It's #LetterboxdFriday 🎥 again so here's my #LastFourWatched

A ghost story that's a period drama in disguise, a weird folk horror adjacent thing about fate and curses and whatnot, a searing deconstruction of gender and sexual stereotypes, and French crimebusters from 1916.

I'm no stranger to wasting my time but this one is probably mine. Built everything from scratch, comped it into the existing episode and even matched a whip pan fairly seamlessly. And Dr Who has enough nerd fans who would have dug the reference to Louis Marx Daleks. Crickets. youtu.be/Jg9tsE3mdg4

Is there such a thing as too much production design? Also interesting choice to take the pic with a super wide lens so it looks like a Bioshock screenshot.
First look at Guillermo del Toro's ‘FRANKENSTEIN’

Having the best time with the new Louis Feuillade blu ray set. It's my first time watching Judex and it's both ridiculous and amazing.

Oh happy day. I was clearing up some bits and bobs over on Twitter and found my long lost Nick Cave Stewart Lee video from 2011. It's right on the one minute limit as well so I can post it here for everyone to enjoy.

The new Alice Lowe film, Timestalker, is available to rent now on YouTube, so that's what I did last night. More people should do this (or see it in the cinema, or buy it on Bluray when it comes out) so we can have more Alice Lowe films.

Didn't realise what a miserable selection this would be. Life and death on the US/Mexico border, the drab monotony of 80s teen heroin addiction, the trouble with Troubles, and a damaged man's quest for the truth about Japanese war atrocities. 🎉🥳

Fine why not. I made this a hundred years ago for a friend's LEGO robot factory display. The factory had a built in LED screen showing this safety video on a loop. Kids loved it. Especially the fitting of the processor. youtu.be/xGyg-RC5xXM

Not the best film El Santo ever made but the only one where when the mad scientist appears, you can nudge the person you're watching with and say "That's Evil Brian"
Santo vs. Evil Brain 1961 Santo contra cerebro del mal
Directed by Joselito Rodríguez

The silver-masked hero must foil the plot of a mad scientist to create a zombie army. #filmsky #movies #film #wrestling
