Today is #WorldDayAgainstTheDeathPenalty.

The death penalty is widely recognised as a cruel & inhuman punishment. It does not deter crime & causes terrible suffering.

All OSCE countries should join the global trend of abolition & make the OSCE region a death penalty-free zone.

Maria Telalian, Director of @odihr.pl, visited the Institute.

Together with the Director of the Institute, Beate Rudolf, she emphasised the great importance of politicians who stand up for the human rights of all, for independent institutions and for a strong civil society.
Two people stand in front of a picture showing parts of the words ‘Human Dignity’. One smiles at the camera, the other looks serious. The text reads: "Anti-democratic and inhumane parties and sentiments are on the rise throughout Europe. Now more than ever, the democratic constitutional state needs politicians who stand up for the human rights of all, for independent institutions and for a strong civil society."
