I’ve watched Tron Ares so you don’t have to.

(And at the same cinema the new PTA film is showing in VistaV, the only one in the country, and well time for noodles I guess.)

Random bits of art springing up around your neighbourhood — in this case because of Bradford City of Culture — is GREAT. Better than flags too.

Saturday aft trip from Saltaire to Salford via Manchester and back on trains for the Grimsby game. First away win I’ve seen since Crewe away in something like April 2023. And I have seen *a lot* of away games since then. The Tap at Manchester Victoria is a splendid boozer too. Thanks weather gods

Gah, I’ve actually got a spare ticket because the boy can’t make it. Never mind

They have done a pitch inspection at something like 11:30 and said it looked playable. There’s another at 12:45. It’s in Salford

If it’s postponed I’ll get off at an earlier station and head back to Saltaire. Bonus reading time. Only heading over to Manchester/Salford

Heading onto the train with the spectre of postponement hanging above the football game you’re heading to. That’s living alright.

Salford away tomorrow, mate. 🫡

I got off at Salts, with him off to Skipton and blagging his way from there to Carlisle. He’s supposed to be home by 5, “my wife’s gonna kill me, I’ll just say I missed the train”. Good luck that man.

Guy on train, 10 mins in:

* got two 4 packs of Stella
* offered some to guy across from him
* “already had a couple in Wetherspoons”
* “should be at work today but…”
* “mental health isn’t a thing, waste of money”
* missed his booked train
* “I’ll just say I’ve got dyslexia, works every time”

Crikey, never correlated those two distances would be anything near similar. LE to JO’G is always bigger than I remember (Devon and Cornwall are long, Scotland is taller). Thought Barca would be something like 2500km away. Spatial awareness eh

I’m endlessly torn between trying to stay online and active in my industry, and hiding, disconnected from the world in the wilderness. On that note, I’ve spent the past week in rural Spain taking pictures of wildlife. Here’s my favourite, of a Golden Eagle in Adamuz. ❤️

#wildlifephotography
A golden eagle perched on a rock. A very large bird of prey with golden brown feathers and a white tail. It has a sharp hooked yellow bill and its membrane eyelid is half covering its golden eye, mid-blink. It has its back to the camera and a wing half unfurled guarding its meal, whilst looking over its left shoulder showing a side profile of its face, and its spiked feathers down the back of its head, almost looking hedgehog like. The same picture as the previous image, but zoomed in closer to see the detail in the face.

Meanwhile the geese, the peak aggrevators, will get a free pass

Said at the start of June let’s kick on harder at everything, including running, yup. Lovely morning for an end of September 10km, nudged me over 1200km ran this year. Now 2025 has the third highest annual amount of running since I started back running in 2017. 2020’s record 1462km is passable. 🙏🏼

MEANWHILE... Starmer is talking at [checks notes] "the Global Progressive Action Conference of centre-left leaders from around the world". This government ain't centre-left.

That’d be escalating our man dates *quite a bit*. (Needing a stopover for starters.)
