I needed to brush my husky, so he hid in his crate. I left some treats out and left the room. I snuck back in and closed the door to his crate before he could get back in. It was close. The look of betrayal. I told him, "Neither of my girl huskies would have ever fallen for that."

It's true.

They are hoarders. We know they aren't ever going to get around to doing anything with that fur, but they had plans for it and are mad you disrespected those plans.

I don't know what the collective noun for various squashes is, but I'm going with an abundance. It's an abundance of squash.

Doing a weekly farmshare of local produce was my best decision of 2025. If you're in Ohio, I use yellowbird foodshed.

My review of The Long Walk to a friend after leaving the theater. To be clear, I've read the book at least a dozen times. Seeing it is very different.

A text exchange where I say, "It was impeccable and fucking sucked and I'm never watching it again." And then "They clearly nailed it." And receive a laughing emoji response.

I've become one of those obnoxiously healthy people who report the macros on everything they cook, but come on, for something I threw together for lunch, I killed it.

Less than 500cal with 41.2g carbs, 11.1g fat, and 54.7g protein.
