🔬 A stunning image of thick skin! The darker layers are composed of the keratinized stratified squamous epithelium of the epidermis, while the lighter pink below is the connective tissue of the dermis, rich in collagen and elastic fibers. The skin is an incredible barrier! #Histology #Anatomy
