Amazing to hear that British #solar electricity generation in 2025 has already exceeded solar generation for the whole of 2024 (FT article on.ft.com/46Wyc8X )
British solar power surges past 2024 total
Good weather and rapidly proliferating farms mean solar generation is at record levels

I see #FPL servers are no better this year, failing to load before or after the deadline as usual

Finally a bit of sun yesterday, first day above average for the time of year in a little while. Doesn't look so good today sadly

Pretty gloomy week so not amazing solar generation, averaged 27kWh over the last week (7kWp system). Even so, still well above~10kWh per day usage so savings rolling in. Follow my data here: www.mysolarstats.co.uk/data

It's pretty rainy on the UK right now. How does this impact solar panel generation? Let's take a look using my real-world data.

My Solar Stats - What's solar panel generation like on a rainy day?
We like to talk about solar panel generation in perfect conditions; a clear, cool, sunny day. But what about solar panel on a rainy day? Let's use my real world data to take a look. What does a sunny...

Gross rate of return of my #solar panels is 13%+ (tax-free) and year isn't complete yet. Even if you don't care about the environment, fantastic #investment if your roof is suitable.

Read this aloud to my wife (not showing the source) and genuinely couldn't be certain it wasn't real

Can we all please stop getting worked up over the monthly UK #GDP data? It's so volatile and the first estimates are so poor that we'd probably be better off not having it at all. Average revision is greater than the average monthly value, I mean honestly what's the point?

What if we analyse solar panel returns as an #investment instead of thinking about pay-off periods? I use my real-world data to find out. www.mysolarstats.co.uk/articles/pay...
My Solar Stats - Pay-off periods - the wrong question?
When looking into installing solar panels you'll probably read about the pay-off periods. How long will it take your to get your money back - 7, 10, 12 years? On the face of it it's a fair question, ...

A few clouds here and there but a solid day of #solar generation all the same. 48kWh generated and 34.5kWh exported (higher than usual usage)
July 9, 2025 at 8:02 AM
Thunderstorms yesterday, much less sunny. Produced 27.7kWh Vs June average of ~38kWh per day. Can see the volatile production through the day.

Absolutely rinsing the @octopus.energy free electricity session. Sold the battery in advance, now charging the battery, charging the car, dishwasher and washer/drier all on at the same time. All with #FreeElectricity

So excited to get things like this for me son. Definitely comes under getting gifts for others you want for yourself! Very privileged to be able to buy all of the silly stuff I couldn't even dream of as a kid #f1 #McLaren

Yesterday was a fairly good summer day. Some cloud in the middle of the day unfortunately but still 44.7kWh generated.

#Ikea are now selling balcony #solar panels. Solar panels are often a great investment, my rate of return is ~13% (see my blog). But with just 1-4 panels against the cost of an inverter I can't help wonder if it's just gimmicky. They become much more cost effective as the number of panels increases.

@serailway.bsky.social yesterday's severe delays & cancellations meant I couldn't make my journey. Is it right that I can't use Delay Repay as I didn't actually make my journey, but you'll charge a £10 fee to refund the ticket I couldn't use due to cancellations? Help appreciated, doesn't seem right
