Hi all, new to BlueSky. I am a hobby photographer/videographer in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. Audio is also a fun thing that I play around with. I went to community college for TV Broadcast and Live Sound Reinforcement classes and got a BS in Journalism and Media Communications. I love history too.

My family does not really decorate outside, but there are sure a lot of folks that do around the holidays. Plenty of families with kids go around trick-or-treating here.

Halloween decorations at this house have been great to see the past few years. There is a lot going on in the front yard with different scenes set up.

It is always neat to see what folks come up with for holiday decorations.

When in need of caps for metal stakes, use colorful laundry detergent bottle caps. At least that is what the neighbors down the street did. It made for an unusual thing to take photos of today.

A late season Tomato harvest from our Tomato plants. The Tomatoes keep on coming in our raised bed garden.

Zucchini harvests have slowed down considerably, though there were a few surprises today.

Electric scooters line the streets and sidewalks of our neighborhood. Folks who ride leave them in a wide range of positions. Most of the time the scooters make for tripping hazards and block sidewalks.

Two orange electric scooters are left on the sidewalk after use and in the verge between sidewalk and street. The rental scooters detract from the aesthetics of the neighborhood. An orange rental electric scooter is left on someone's front yard next to the bike lane in the street.

This person on a motorcycle was wearing an unusual outfit with a hoodie that kept flying down and needing to be put back up.

Lane splitting has not been something that people have done well here in #FortCollins. It is creating more irritation than usefulness.

I think I looked at Capture One once a long time ago, but am curious what other people think of it now. Great photo.

I used Pixelmator for awhile, but am finding that Affinity Photo does most of what I want along with XNview for sorting photos.

Lightroom was something I used pre-subscription. I found that I could not edit on the go without an Internet connection for licensing. That became a major issue for me.

It was nice to take a few hours this morning and relax drawing this ceramic statue that my parents had brought back from a trip to Hawaii. The Fall weather here in Colorado is quite nice.

Another selection of neighborhood light decoration photos from Christmas time last year in Old Town #FortCollins #Colorado.

There are a lot more photos from other parts of town that I am in the process of editing and catching up on.

A row of houses and sidewalk on Mountain Ave is lit up by Christmas lights. The leftmost house has various levels lit by white lights. A smaller house in the middle of the frame has red lights on its porch. Other houses in the background have red, green and blue lights. Homes on Mountain Ave are lit with various Christmas lights. A house in the background is lit in blue, while the closest house is lit with white lights. The cross street, Mack, is well lit from the ambient light of the Christmas lights. Textured sidewalk crossings are visible as are landscaping on both sides of the street. A home on Mountain Ave has Christmas lights of various colors strung up from the sidewalk to the side of the house. Parts of the sidewalk, grass and home are bathed in light from the Christmas lights. Laporte Ave is lit up from Christmas lights in the Old Town, Fort Collins neighborhood.

Yellow and White street markings are visible on the wide road in front of a very brightly lit house. A red wreath contrasts the white lights.

Here is a small selection of photos from Christmas time last year around the Old Town #FortCollins neighborhood in #Colorado

Folks had quite the display of lights up. It seemed like more people had decided to decorate than usual.

Red light from Christmas lights bathes the front porch of a brick house. White lights frame the roof of the porch from above. A stained glass insert in the front door is lit up from inside. Green and red Christmas lights light up the roofline and front of a brick house. Candles line the front steps. A full moon peaks out front behind the house in a dark blue sky. Two houses have their rooflines decorated with Christmas lights in addition to trees in their front yards. The house on the left has a large inflatable lit decoration on its roof.

Ambient light from the Christmas lights gives a warm glow to the neighborhood. A small white house is decorated minimally with colored lights in one window and strands of lights on the front porch and roofline. A red car is parked on the street and visible in the ambient light from the Christmas lights in the neighborhood.

The first night of bowling league with the Average Jane and Joe League at Chippers North.

A big Willow tree got taken down in our neighborhood today. With the street blocked off and crane in front of the house I had quite a good view. I hung out for the entire morning watching.

Seeing arborists lifted by crane hook into trees to work was quite something.

Photos from a neighborhood block party several weeks ago with a number of local musicians that live in the area playing.

It was a fun evening with lots of people in the Old Town neighborhood in #FortCollins #Colorado

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekNforNights

The names of the bands or musical acts and the time they would be on stage is written in chalk on a wood sign. A painted sign shows the years that the "Wood Block" party has happened.

A speaker on one side of the stage props up the sign. Patio chairs are set up for people to sit and walk musicians perform. A man holds his terrier dog in his hands while listening to music. Several members of a band perform on a raised stage. The stage is lit up by holiday lights on a tarp over the stage and on a tree.

This was also where I had my newish Canon 50mm 1.4 lens go berserk on me with the dreaded "Error 1" and became nonfunctional. Switching to another lens was the only option.

It had happened before, just not on this level. Lens contact cleaning did not help.
Canon EF 50mm lens on RF to EF adapter. Canon Err 01 Screen on my backup camera a Canon M50.

"Err 01

Communication between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts"

I have done all this before and was testing this on another camera body. Pretty frustrating.
