.. it kind of points to a more structural problem. Maybe even disagreements? Things have clearly been going downhill since Zeeman, and I just don't think the team has been able to keep up since.

That something is out of balance in the way the team is managed and/or the environment. Okay, with some riders maybe it's as simple as not adjusting the expectations of training methods etc well enough when they're signed (Simon). But with people like Tiesj and Tim who've been there for ages -->

Yeah true, hopefully this bad start will be basically forgotten once the season really kicks in and we (hopefully) get some good results - I mean a giro victory would do wonders 🙏 And a few Brennan wins 🤞 But right now it's a little hard being a fan of this (mens) team 😂😭

True, that's a good point. Right now it's probably looking like a team on a downward trajectory - with people "leaving the sinking ship"😵💫 whether true or not, it's NOT a great image. They need wins. But with both captains out (and Jonas not racing for ages), it's hard to turn that around rn I guess

Something in the team environment or in the management must be off. Something structural. Too many high profile departures at this point to just be a "coincidence" imo. Everything went downhill after Zeeman left.

Unfortunately I agree 😱 I don't know if all the coaches are completely aligned in training methods to a degree where his training might not change much, but certainly mentally, it must be a big blow...

I'm not saying he has few race days in general? But only racing once in the entire spring pre giro for the build up just isn't ideal. Not their fault he got sick/got taken down by Pedro. But that doesn't mean they can't look into adding another race. They did look into that last year too after all.

I get your point, but at the same time we can't keep him away from racing just because there is a risk of crashing 🙂 He is a bike rider after all. I don't think he needs to (or wants to) be sheltered more than any other GC rider in this regard. But I do think Visma will keep him off racing.

Fear around PN is strong in here 😅 If he's going on altitude exactly then, then obviously no. PN isn't perfect timing, but only riding Catalunya isn't exactly ideal either.

I actually don't think he would do altitude before Catalunya based on what he said in those January interviews 🤔 Could be wrong though. I wish they would send him to Paris Nice. But I think they're too conservative/overly cautious to do so unfortunately

I so wish they send him to altitude with the rest of the guys these coming weeks and add Paris-Nice, but I just feel like, with how we know Visma, they won't 😢 Dude needs to race..!
