Today I have been olive picking in Valensole, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department. This is a view from the roadside of the snow covered French Alps. The sky is blue and the clouds white and grey. Peace abounds. The fields in June/July would have been full of lavender!

Whatever you are doing in the world, I was watching this mornings sunrise over Marseille (it is just hidden by the heavy, grey clouds). The golden glow from the streetlights give off the illusion of sunlight!

For a fleeting moment I believe the sky came close to perfection! I am happy it was not overlooked. As the sun continued to rise over Marseille…this…a fire red sky mixed with dark grey. It was accompanied by a distant horizon in shadow.
