The first refurbished CrossCountry Voyager, 220033, was unveiled by Alstom at Derby today and will re-enter service in late Feb. All 70 units in the XC fleet are to be refurbished over the next 18 months as part of a £75M programme funded by Beacon Rail which includes new seats

A bit sceptical about the standard class seats, but otherwise looks very good! Looking forward to eventually trying this out…
Enter the “Serenza”: @LNER has released the first interior images of its ten new 10-car tri-mode CAF Class 897s which are due to enter service in 2028. It has also christened the trains “Serenza” and LNER says they will be the first new trains introduced as part of GBR and will be branded as such

This morning I got to try out another “brand new” train in the form of the UK’s first pure-battery powered train, the Class 230! This special unit is running on the West Ealing to Greenford branch with today being its passenger debut. Here’s the scoop… 👇

This afternoon I got to try DB’s “Ideenzug”, a heavily modified Twindexx carriage which includes numerous interior designs and concepts to potentially be included on Germany’s future long-distance rail vehicles. Definitely up there as one of the most unique trains I’ve tried to date! 😅

And here’s their replacement - the Railjet 3, a brand new version of the KISS which is expected to launch later this year. After this who knows, maybe the current ÖBB KISS fleet will become fourth hand trains for another operator 🤷♂️😂

Another day, another Stadler KISS - this time I’m riding the “new” ÖBB version which will be taking me up to Salzburg. Crazy to think these trains are only 8 years old and are already third-hand! 😳
