Many things will affect how well a student will do in school. Some you can control, others you can't

One that affects every student (and teacher), and that we can control, is indoor air quality

In this video I walk through how and offer some solutions

They were 2.8 times as likely to experience changes to taste and smell, 2.3 times as likely to develop blood clots, and nearly twice as likely to develop heart disease or kidney damage."

Back to school means back to poor indoor air quality for our kids in Ontario’s schools and school buses.

Indoor air quality has been shown to affect mental well-being, academic performance, and school attendance.

These door hangers could serve as a helpful reminder that it’s time to clean the air.

Each day, we breathe around 11,000 litres of air-enough to fill 20,000 water bottles.

About 5 children in each classroom have asthma, which can be worsened by poor indoor air.

We spend 90% of our time indoors. Indoor air can be 2-5 times worse than outside. Kids spend most of their time at school indoors.

School starts tomorrow for many. Approximately 1 in 74 people in Ontario currently has COVID. If those were the odds for a lottery, I’d be buying several tickets, but this isn’t a lottery worth winning.

Masks work, insist on open windows & filtering the air/HEPAs.

Reminder as kids head back to school next week:

There are over 4800 schools in Ontario.

We do not know the indoor air quality status in any of them.

Love to see the chickens and birds get funding for better air quality to stop the spread of HPAI in BC.

Now where’s the prioritization of this kind of funding to stop the spread of illness in schools before our kids return to school next week?
