Rude.

In the absence of a response to a polite request for a link to the thing you might have to "go through all again", (a willingness to listen and learn):

Maybe London creates more GDP *because* of all the funding and centralisation? And in the world I want, money is spread around to those in need.

Probably not, but a link to something might be helpful.

Another political question would be: why should anyone in the regions vote Labour if a Labour government fails to put right years of funding inequity?

Surely, it's not just about the money?

For years, the regions have lost out vs. London, evon on a per capita basis. For transport, it's about a factor of two. www.statista.com/statistics/1...
UK transport spending per capita by region 2024| Statista
In 2023/24, transport spending in London was 1,313 British pounds per capita, compared with just 368 pounds per head in the East Midlands, indicating a significant regional disparity in public spendin...

The employee asked the girl and her mother if they needed help shopping. That’s it. That’s all. The misinformation, the insinuations (because the facts are inconveniently benign) are EXACTLY what was done to lesbians in the 80s. This is the product of hate and fear, not reality.

... and this is why we need PR.

Yes, I thought (knew) it was! Just couldn't miss a cheap joke. I quite liked the word 'invert' when I was younger, especially when contrasted with 'pervert'. Perverts have been corrupted, whilst Inverts have always been like it. :-) #ProudInvert

Also, law isn't about "fairness", unless you're making laws; it's about interpretation mostly. Most of us "divergent" souls have to become experts in our own self-defence, of course.

Hi Robson, I hope you're using invertebrates, rather than "inverts"! Or perhaps you have lots of gay people standing round the pond, watching. If so, I'd be up for it. :-)

Between 2011 and 2023, 816 care homes in England were forcibly closed by the regulator for poor standards and harms to residents.

804 were owned by for-profit entities. 30% -40% of fees vanish in profits, leaving less for services.

Profits and care don't mix.
New analysis: most care homes closed by industry regulator are run
A new analysis led by researchers at the University of Oxford and funded by the Nuffield Foundation has found that virtually all care homes forced to close in England by the Care Quality Commission

92 years ago today, the Nazis raided the Magnus Hirschfeld Institute for Sexuality, where the first study of trans people was conducted, and burned all of its contents.

Fitting that today is also the day SCOTUS greenlights the project of the eradication of trans people from society in the US.

My father said the same thing. It was only later he told me that his childhood best friend was in Japanese PoW camp in Hiroshima. He survived the bomb because the camp was underground in a mineshaft.
