My fucking apartment's website made it so you CAN'T login via password anymore, it's "Send OTP to email" only.

What. The. Fuck. Why? It's not more secure, it's a pain in the ass.

If you sing poorly enough, you can just claim it's microtonal and that it took you a lot effort to learn it that way.

I occasionally feel existential. Aware of my own legacy.

I think about the things I've made from 1-off projects to friendships. Sometimes it feels insignificant.

Then I think about how the vast majority of individuals famous for their actions are also just shit human beings.

Yeah, I'm good.

I call my main work area at home the "Computer Room"

It's not my "office" or "studio" or "game room". It is all of those things, but I like the idea that it's general purpose, used for all the things.

There are benefits to a computer being treated as a single use appliance:

Dear tech companies,

If I am using your tool, I do not need you to give me a full screen pop-up asking me to use your tool. I am already using it.

Shut the fuck up.

Sincerely considering switching to other products,

It's very possible to be using the best tool available and for that tool to still be ass.

This is why I enjoy making tools: Creating things that empower myself or others to create better things is what drives me.

Amazon's Alexa devices have gotten significantly worse in the last few months. I used to be surprised when a command mis-triggered, now almost every command does. Often playing music or trying to set alarms despite me asking to do something I have a word-for-word matching "routine" setup for.

It grinds my gears how often people lack care for quality in the craft of coding. I don't care much when it's for some silly personal project, but when it's something safety critical or a large codebase on a commercial product please just give a shit.

I don't understand how so many pieces of software I use that are made by huge businesses can be buggy, half-baked UI, pieces of shit.

Like, you'd think at least one player would exist that has taken the time to make sure their code is good for each industry. There isn't. Everyone sucks.

I feel like my setup at home has transcended "studio" or "gamer" or "engineer" and gone right to "cyber-hoarder 2077"

I passionately hate that Android tries to manage my phone for me and says "we've removed permissions from things you haven't used in a while" or "we're gonna put these apps in deep sleep"

Afaik, you can't turn either off globally so if you have to turn it off for every app.

Successfully moved my Website to be hosted on git.gay today. Feels good to have it hosted by and be a part of a smaller community that actually cares instead of a mega corp that has ICE contracts.
