Exactly. Americans suffer daily from the structural violence baked into our capitalist society and economy. Reframing all of the examples above as institutionalized violence is essential in waking people up.

No, the Canadian version predates the American version. Canadian Thanksgiving predates the American Thanksgiving, with the earliest recorded celebration in Canada in 1578, over 40 years before the famous 1621 American feast.
