After decades of profiting from cruelty, Marineland is threatening to kill its 30 remaining whales 💔 It's time for Ontario to step in to protect the whales & send Marineland the bill!

@camillelabchuk.bsky.social: “Marineland has a moral obligation to fund the future care of these animals.” ⬇️

🚨 Marineland is threatening to KILL 30 beluga whales unless the gov’t gives them money or allows the whales to be shipped to a subpar aquarium in China.

This is extortion. The Ontario & federal governments must step in now & protect the whales 👉 http://bit.ly/3IxNfME

BREAKING: We did it! 🎉 Thanks to your advocacy, the government DENIED #Marineland’s permit application to send 30 surviving belugas to a Chinese theme park, where they could have endured a dangerous journey only to suffer & be bred in another tank.

Jane Goodall, the influential primatologist who changed how people see chimpanzees and themselves, died Wednesday at the age of 91.

She died of natural causes while she was in California on a speaking tour, the Jane Goodall Institute said in a statement on social media.

It’s disturbing that #Marineland wants export permits to ship 30 surviving belugas to a theme park in China! Transport is stressful & dangerous—plus they could be bred or forced to perform in shows, which has been banned in Canada ⚠️🐳 #CdnPoli

Over this past weekend, we saw more than 50 different individual orcas from three different populations, all within the central Salish Sea!

We have so much to share, we will have to take it in pieces. For starters, here's our weekend's "Bigg's Backlit Blows" series 🤩
