I feel this approach makes the general evaluation that follows run more smoothly, tying together certain points of interest and passages that still need a bit of work. See everyone Thursday for the next release!
This first Longa Evaluation features embedded chapters in the video timeline, and an opening section of enhanced evaluation detailing the areas of focus I feel would bring this score up to a performable standard (not that this particular entry really requires all that much adjusting).
Superb work, Jesse! Thanks so much for the work you put into this.
...so that every passage has evolved and changed somehow. His capacity for understated yet impactful scoring is at a premium here - which perhaps isn't in the period style, yet it reveals Jesse's own take on Beethoven's character in a fascinating, authentic-feeling way.
BEETHOVEN PATREON EVALUATION 67. JESSE VOOGT
Jesse kicks off our Longa level releases in style with a wonderfully subtle, multilayered orchestration, which develops and build on itself throughout, even adding and subtracting material during repeats...

I'll mention it one more time just before the sale closes. This sale is for you, not me, really - though I can't deny that the proceeds are helping me catch up with my medical expenses which were really intense this year. Thanks everyone so much for your understanding and support!
Hi everyone! I'm announcing this today across the community (and I already mentioned it in a video on YouTube). When I first announced my sale back in late September, I messed up the final date - so I'm just extending the deadline a couple more weeks, through to midnight P.D.T. Monday 3 November.
This post heavily explores how Mozart took an instrument that was making cautious inroads into opera scores, and turned it into an integrated, equal member of the woodwind section. Click here for full score+audio examples.

Then on Sunday, we'll kick off a solid week of in-depth evaluations at the Longa Level - all full Movement 1 orchestrations, with some enhanced analysis and improved navigation for viewers. See you soon!
Thus ends the roster of Dotted Breve entries - an astonishing list of 26 scores, ending as they started with superb orchestrations. Tomorrow, please join me for the pure fun of looking through a compilation of six short excerpts from website subscribers.
My feedback is more to explore the score's potential for even greater speed and thrills with a few changes here and there. Brava, Julianne!
..and a driving momentum that pulls the listener/score-reader fully into the orchestration. In that sense, this feels very much like Beethoven in character; and yet Julianne's own personality shines through as well in the shaping of powerful, vivid scoring through careful planning & a very keen ear.

And this is just the first of two releases scheduled for today. Stay posted for the release of our next and last entry from the Dotted Breve level category, coming in about an hour or so. I promise that it will be well worth your time watching two of these in a day.
All the same, there are few entries that surpass this one for sheer excitement and headlong momentum. Excellent effort, Gemnox!
There's a simplicity and directness of approach that honours Beethoven's voice and outlook quite well; while not exactly being period-perfect. My task is more to show how this approach could go even further by avoiding over-interpretation and making things easier on the players.
BEETHOVEN PATREON EVALUATION 65. GEMNOX
Gemnox's hearty, spirited interpretation brings us back to our orchestral roots in style, with enormous energy and commitment.
