"In a small organization, every relationship matters. Cyndi and her colleagues knew that they didn’t want just a majority to vote in favor of a union; they wanted full consensus from every eligible worker. They knew that this would strengthen both the union and the workplace moving forward." #1u

“Nothing about us without us” is more than just a slogan, it's a core value of the labor movement. Even good intentions don’t equal accountability. If it affects workers, workers deserve to have a say.

The Trump admin just fired 220 crisis counselors, mostly women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ workers, right after they formed a union. This isn’t just union-busting, it’s discriminatory retaliation against frontline workers fighting for the rights and safety of LGBTQ+ youth.

More than 220 CWA members were laid off last week as a direct result of the Trump administration’s decision to defund the 988 “Press 3” LGBTQ+ youth crisis line that provides specialized services to vulnerable youth at high risk for suicide.

Power exists, no matter the structure of your organization. And workers deserve to have a say in how it’s used. A union doesn’t break trust, it builds real accountability. But for close-knit teams, it can feel like a rupture.

🤢🤢🤢

This is the system working as designed: reward the rich, squeeze the rest. Workers deserve fair wages, not crumbs while CEOs cash million-dollar raises and safety nets get slashed. #WorkerJustice
publiccitizen.bsky.social
The average CEO took home a $1.24 MILLION raise last year.

Meanwhile, their workers are struggling to pay rent and put food on the table.

And now Trump and MAGA Republicans gutted government services that these workers rely on.

Just to give EVEN MORE handouts to corporations.

It can feel disempowering to be in a campaign that moves slowly and seems mostly reactive to management.

The campaign mountain model is a useful framework for escalating actions that focuses on bringing members in consistently and fighting as a unit: labornotespodcast.podbean.com/e/how-to-win...
