Experimental #OpenXR support just got merged and will be available in the next release. It makes using #Overte in #VR on #Linux much easier and more compatible with #opensource runtimes such as #Monado and #WiVRn. Thanks to Lubosz and Ada for contributing this amazing feature! #foss

2025.03.03 hotfix release of #Overte is ready! It addressed freezes on start in VR, fixes antialiasing on transparencies and significantly improves startup time. #foss #vr #opensource

2025.03.1 release of #Overte is ready! It has a number of improvements, including Alezia's redesigned Places app including portals. Thanks to HifiExperiments and #NLnet foundation grant this release has improved TAA, third person camera clipping and codebase refactor. #foss #vr #opensource

Overte's V8 script engine is very versatile. Can it run Doom though? Thanks to Ada's recent work on Canvas API grant from #NLnet foundation, on feature/canvas-entity branch it's now possible to paint directly to textures from #javascript and #webassembly . #foss #opensource #wasm #vr

Portal spawning system got merged, and will soon be available in the upcoming release of #Overte . It allows users to spawn a portal to a different place so that friends may follow them while visiting different virtual worlds. #vr #foss #opensource
