One of the things we hear most about our books is that the characters are relatable. Thanks to our illustrator, Chiara Civati, both kids and adults enjoy learning from our books' participants. Meet the whole gang for yourself!
Tonight’s plan: cozy corner, one story, all hearts. ❤️📖 #FamilyLiteracyDay #ReadTogether
Happy Halloween! Make sure to have some fun today with your little ones! 🎃
Arizona teachers recently trained on how to incorporate our financial literacy books into their classrooms. 😍
We're excited, too, to see 4th graders learn about things like saving, budgeting, work, and risk. Our six books each teach an important lesson.
Simple visuals can help a young child understand a concept like saving. Think of an item that's in a realistic price point for a child with a little spending money. Show how putting small amounts aside can add up over time to reach a goal.
If age-appropriate, make a game out of sorting coins. This familiarize kids with the coins, opens the conversation about money and purchase power, and shows that bigger coins aren't always higher-value coins. 🤔
Lately, teachers all over the country have been getting training from their states on how to teach financial literacy using our books. Thanks, teachers, for your feedback!
Please share this with your teacher, reading specialist, and librarian friends! owningthedash.com 📚

Looking to introduce littles to financial concepts? At age five, you can talk about how one bottled juice *equals* $2.00, or how one ear of corn at the farmers market *equals* one dollar. After doing this for a while, you can ask the kiddo to estimate the price of simple things.
