Only radio operators can gather in a field, stare up at the sky, and be completely mesmerized—not by the stars, but by the antennas! ⭐📡
The radio club #OZ7SKB visited #OZ5E to admire the impressive antenna farm and the well-equipped operations house.

Turns out, there’s a lot of smoke in one small compon🫣🌋🔥
A grounding issue made a part in my Icom CT-17 RS-232 interface self-destruct in a dramatic puff of smoke. Thankfully, no fire alarms went off, and it’s an easy fix 😀

(A solid grounding wire is now installed)

Finally got time to fixing the power supply! After ~20 years of service, the 230V switch gave up. Luckily, a new one cost just ~€3, and now it’s back in action. There’s something satisfying about repairing your own gear. Here’s to many more years of uptime! ⚡🔧 😀

Damn my G5RV antenna lost its SWR balance! Perfect timing with a storm on the way to take it down. Hoping it’s a minor fix.

Note to my self: install a backup antenna next time to stay QRV! 🤔

New Year’s Eve is sprinting toward us, and we're gearing up for a fresh year filled with new DX, (hopefully) more sunspots, and plenty of building projects.

Wishing you all a fantastic New Year from here!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a New Year filled with new DXCC and DX. And even though the odds of finding a brand-new HF radio under the Christmas tree might be as slim as hitting a DX pileup without QRM, let’s keep our fingers crossed – miracles do happen!

Merry Christmas,
