I still adore FF tactics but it has such a weird community, there's like 100s of people making videos about how to optimise your party to be mega overpowered and they always end with the caveat "but the game is very easy so you don't need to do any of this".

There's a lot of youtube shorts of people doing trade jobs, laying tile etc, but that's sort of distilled down to people videoing themselves doing a single tile cut or cutting one mortise or laying a single brick and honestly they've lost me at this point.

I'm trying to play FF Tactics with minimal looking shit up because I don't want to spoil the sense of discovery you get from unlocking new Jobs etc but I was curious if the story changes if you let Argath die when you first encounter him (I guess it's actually just a game over) and got spoilered

I can forgive the end users a bit, sometimes this shit is daunting so there's substantial motifcation to just panic and get an adult, but professionals doing this pisses me off, the amount of time wasted on spelling shit out to people who should know better is ridiculous.

The worst thing you can do as a computer user, whether you're just an end user or a pro IT person who's just not familiar with the tech you're looking at is not read the fucking error message, I swear to Christ the error literally says what's wrong and often how to fix it, read the fucking thing!

They finally ported the one good Final Fantasy to PC. I must admit I'm not thrilled that the graphics upgrade appears to be "that smoothing filter that SNES emulators used in 2002", especially when it already had such a gorgeous and frankly iconic look though.

Every now and then I google "best anime <current year>" and wow 2025 has been hella different from 2024 and 2023 based on that. I'm glad the "we made the title of our honestly very boring isekai overlong or lazily provocative" trend has mostly ended.
