I live in a neighborhood in the SF Bay Area where Halloween is a very big deal. Many families come to trick or treat from a nearby heavily Latino part of Oakland. This year? A huge drop off in the number of trick or treaters. Parents are scared, and I’m sad for the kids.

I was notified today by my health insurer that thanks to One Big Beautiful Bill, my health insurance costs are likely to increase by $400-$500 per month next year. That's the amount of the INCREASE -- not the total cost, which is already well over $1000/month (not including copayments). 🧵
