💡 Follow our new social media campaign to explore key insights from extensive desk research on pandemic preparedness and response across five target countries, enriched by in-depth interviews with senior policymakers.
The effectiveness of national responses to #COVID19 depended largely on existing preparedness systems, which form part of the global public health emergency framework coordinated under the WHO’s 2005 International Health Regulations.
🔬 The #pandemic impacted every EU Member State, but its effects, and each country’s capacity to absorb and respond to the economic and health crises, varied widely.

🔬 The #COVID-19 pandemic taught us many valuable lessons. We witnessed a rapid increase in infections daily, hour by hour, and sometimes even minute by minute. What if #health personnel could access a fast & reliable point-of-care system to diagnose infectious agents?

🔬 As part of #PAIReu’s endeavours to strengthen #pandemic preparedness, we welcome the decision taken by the WHO during the 77th World Health Assembly: the adoption of a global pandemic agreement aimed at making the world safer in the face of #health emergencies.
