It's telling that Vance's first instinct following the Politico leak was to tell his sons to be wary of what they write in group chats--to assume “some scumbag is going to leak it in an effort to try to cause you harm.”

His message here is basically--be racist; just don't get caught.
Vance said he planned to warn his children—“especially my boys”—to be cautious about what they share in group chats or online, advising them to assume “some scumbag is going to leak it in an effort to try to cause you harm or cause your family harm.”
