The Town of Carrboro expresses its deepest sympathy following the recent death of former Town Alderman Hilliard Caldwell.

Caldwell was a pivotal figure who advocated for and participated in the desegregation of schools in Carrboro during the Civil Rights Movement.

Making denial of the existence of my intersex, nonbinary, and trans neighbors, colleagues, and friends a condition of federal science funding is gross and despotic. They are here, and I will stand up for them.
