For anyone interested, here's my current roster of OC's. The cat got a name since I made the original, she goes by Cassie now; strong dog still hasn't found her name tag, though.

No need to ask if you wanna draw any of them, I love getting fanart; just tag me so I can see! 📌
Working on the Paoverse characters. Shut up, that's what I'm calling my canon. The Paoverse. More soon™️

I hear of a lot of people being nervous to commission art for reasons similar to this and I just want to let you know that it's all part of the process. You're the CUSTOMER and if you're communicating in good faith any decent artist is going to do their best to work WITH you.
Just a reminder to those who want to commission art from an artist but have no reference material: it's not a problem! As long as you can communicate your idea and work with the artist to get it right as early in the process as possible, you're golden!

I'm Pao, I mostly do furry content but have been branching out lately. I like traditional and digital mediums and try to combine them where I can.

Tagging @hyenabeans.bsky.social @evbright.bsky.social and @lewdsidart.bsky.social so I can see what they've all ben up to lately!
It does, I just gotta wait it out. Not the first time, won't be the last; just all part of the process.🤷
I'm in one of those slumps where I feel like all of my creative output comes out bad.🫠
TIL Adobe After Effects does not support SVG as an import type. Fucking why!? Reminder that the minimum entry price (discounted for a student, even) starts at $300.

And we can't even support a 24-year-old file standard that still sees widespread use.
Mirrors always make for fun poses. Love it!
This is my favorite piece I've done of Cassie, and I can't seem to replicate the style for the life of me.
More clean scans! I think I'm getting the hang of making it not look gross.

Who's your favorite Pokemon? For horny reasons, I mean. 🤔
Ah yes, the non-copyright-infringing interstellar commandos.

Dang, that sucks. Hope you get well soon!
Tonight is the deadline for my animation project. Should have MUCH more free time after that.🙃
TL;DR not all AI is bad, just the unethically sourced models that are running rampant on social and mainstream media. Direct your anger toward the big boys, not their customers. I don't like AI content, I don't engage with it. Just a random rant; I don't use AI and don't plan to.
If you're someone with the resources, fight back (figuratively). File lawsuits for copyright infringement, loss of revenue, damage to reputation. Whatever impact it has had on you and your business. Big AI doesn't care if you bully their customers, it's not going to stop them. (7/8)
Don't put the blame on the ones generating AI art, they aren't the ones at fault for this situation. Place the blame on the companies churning out these AI models, the checkpoints, the LoRa. Selling the training data is where all the money comes in. (6/8)
Buying training data from a 3rd party that can't verify sources is just shifting the blame and just as unethical as stealing it yourself. Once payment is exchanged for a product it is no longer "research" and become commercial, so a lot of those protections shouldn't apply. (5/8)
Copyright to something doesn't provide this consent, unless the contract explicitly make mention of AI training. If a company wants to pay for an informed creative to make training data, no qualms. If a company wants to pay for, then use, work as data without informing, that's different. (4/8)
I don't think true consent has even been possible up until these models have proven their effectiveness. No artist, writer, nor musician could have understood where this tech was going 5 or 10 years ago. I think we're just reaching the point of being able to give informed consent for training. (3/8)
That said, I don't think it's necessarily immoral to use AI in those creative fields either. To be clear, my line of morality here lies with consent. If an artist consents to their work being used in training who am I to argue? By and large, though, there hasn't been consent. (2/8)
Unprompted #AI opinion piece: a 🧵

AI has it's place, but I don't think that place is in creative fields. We should be using it to crawl through giant stacks of paperwork looking for patterns and finding testable solutions, not replacing the jobs people actually enjoy doing. (1/8)
