I am not a military man myself but I am sure there are many professional troops in the armies of the West who would love the opportunity to be 'boots on the ground' (or in the air or on the sea) to put Putin in his place. The Russian people would cherish a new freedom from the tyrant.
Those in positions of supposed authority are loud in their support of this visit but all public opinion seems to be the opposite. We just don't want him here. They keep telling us Trump brings jobs and money to Scotland but it's not all about money. Some things are more important. Decency. Honesty.
It was intended as a protest against Trump's immigration policy but there are so many aspects of Trump's policies, his personality, his history, his lack of diplomacy, in fact everything about him that will have Liberty hiding her face in shame for many years to come.
They are still planning a state visit, no matter how strong the public oppose it. Public opinion counts for nothing apparently. Maybe if this 'business' visit raises enough protest, they will think again about wasting tens of millions on a state visit for detested felon.

While the unionised doctors and nurses demand more and more 'with menaces', queues for treatment get ever longer. Striking will solve nothing and will alienate the public even more
Because we are humans and limited by our imagination and our expected lifespan, we cannot get our heads round the idea of an eternal God who has always been and will always be. Similarly we cannot accept that God created the Universe. Only God's Holy Spirit can open our understanding of this.

I hope you will consider promoting a change to the US constitution. The existing set-up has been shown up as very dangerous, putting uncontrolled power in the hands of the President. No man should have that level of unfettered power, especially when he is willing to ignore or challenge the courts.
