Once in like 1999 I went into a Gristedes to buy some cereal and milk and when I opened the milk fridge a fucking bat flew out, hit me in the face, and flew up to the ceiling (its home, clearly) and when I told the woman at the front she was like yeah, he gets trapped in there sometimes

The Burgermaster is around 100th and Aurora. There used to be a Larry’s over there but it’s a SuperSaver now. I didn’t have a lot of cause to be at that part of Aurora too often tho. My good grocery stores were the Northgate QFC or the Shoreline Central Market if I was willing to drive.

There are still Red Apples so I was curious. Started as a Seattle-based retailer co-op, purchased by larger co-ops that also got purchased and is now part of a wholesale distributor whose biggest client is Whole Foods.

Associated Grocers > Unified Grocers > SuperValu > United Natural Foods.
