yup, i'm taking inspiration for that from both paper mario and M&L, and also from the attacks you can do in the touhou fighting games to spice it up a bit

updated the turnbased battle system! now it's in 3D (with 3D camera movements). also, polished up the menus/submenus and the jump attack animation. you can swap to your partner as well

(icons and attack names/animations are placeholders, i wanna do more than just jumping and hammering)

i believe the original game has been in development since around 2010. the one i'm doing has been since around 2021-ish (not constant development, it's on-and-off cause of irl stuff). it's been around for a long time!

some more implementations - my dialogue engine now works in the overworld and i made some test NPCs to try it out. also did some stuff on the camera that allows me to be able to pinpoint where it's looking at while a conversation is happening (SFX is placeholder)

- added the hammer
- fixed up the animations code so it's less cluttered and easier to add to
- shadows now properly follow the ground angle

- added overworld partners (just the follow sprites)
- made "grounded" partners that don't float, able to follow you and jump
- switched from 3D gameplay to 2.5D to scale down on the scope a little while still keeping the cool 3D environments and some mechanics(seen in the video)
