Me and a classmate visiting the pyramids in Egypt. We were both high school students at Cairo American College, in the Cairo suburb Maadi, at the time. I graduated from there the following June.

“Junto al Generalife” for solo guitar, composed by Joaquin Rodrigo. Here’s a terrific performance by Tariq Harb.

I just came across the “Western Standard” news & commentary channel on Youtube; Canada’s version of MAGA Fox News.
From the videos there you’d think Canada is going all to hell under Carney’s government, lol.
Dangerous nonsense that, unfortunately, many in western Canada believe and take seriously

Rereading this now. So well written, and also an object lesson that’s relevant to what’s happening in parts of the world today.

In a world full of distractions and haste, living consciously in the here and now is an art that grants us peace and fulfillment. Every step we take mindfully brings us back to ourselves and to the simple joys of life.

Today, I submitted 456,365 Albertans’ signatures to Elections Alberta, petitioning the Premier to do the right thing, avoid a divisive and economically harmful referendum, and allow MLAs to vote and reaffirm that Alberta’s future is in Canada.🇨🇦

I fully understand snd sympathize with Americans’ problems and apprehensions about rising health care costs, undependable insurance, and disappearing government support.
What I don’t understand, and would like to know more, is why health care is so expensive in the first place.

This current American presidential administration is run by people who are quite obviously mentally ill, and we need to start talking about that.

There are reports that the UCP intends to limit or control immigration into Alberta. If so, I wonder how they plan to do that?

Here’s an entertaining, hilarious book (1986) that pokes fun at unnecessarily technical-sounding words or phrases used to describe simple, commonplace things. An enjoyable light read! You may find yourself calling a spoon a “noninvasive transfer utensil,” or a window screen an “arthropod filter.”😁

Something positive to think about. This is a clear description and explanation of the discovery by a Mars rover of what could possibly be evidence of past life on Mars, and why scientists are so excited about it.
