Now, 100 days past our deadline, Senate Republican leadership said on the record they don’t have the votes to pass a bill that makes any progress for PA'ns – instead, they only have the votes to pass the EXACT same budget we passed last year.

Gov. Shapiro gave his budget address in February. Senate Dems shared wide support for that budget, & House Dems were on board too. Democratic leadership has been vocal about their willingness to collaborate across the aisle on a legitimate budget.

This means that instead of using our time to pass a legitimate state budget that prioritizes the needs of PA'ns, Senate Republicans have chosen to waste time on a complicated legislative maneuver to solve a problem of their own making.

I recently reintroduced the Abortion Protections Package with Sen. Schwank to protect patients and their right to bodily autonomy despite other states' efforts to strip that right away.

(1/2) PennDOT's $394 million allocation in capital funds to SEPTA is a last resort measure and simply not a sustainable solution to the transit funding crisis our region – and Commonwealth – faces. And, our Commonwealth is still left without a state budget.
