Furthermore, they could have just given the Alfred storyline to Commissioner Gordan and it would have finally given this background character the recognition he has in the comics. I feel like making Barbara related to Alfred was a dick move cos that's not her relation in the comics.
one of the villains, howEVER will we fix this and attempt to look progressive? I know! Let's add Batgirl! Than the feminists won't tag us for being sexist!"

Like, she could have been a great inclusion but even Babs was objectified (By Robin specifically which as a Comics fan, ticks me off.)
OHHH! That was absolutely the reason for her inclusion, that and also Joel Schumacher loves Batgirl, I think she's his favorite character from the comics.

But yeah, Bagirl on the whole feels like an afterthought, I am sure the writers where probably like "Oh no! Our only main female character is-
I absolutely agree, Barbara could have been cut out, especially since they made her Barbara.... Pennyworth??!??

She's Barbara Gordan! She's the Commissioner's Niece, not The Butler's.

Somewhere there was a miscommunication, cos I cannot fathom how they made Barbara Alfred's Niece.
That movie is my personal guilty pleasure. Yes, the writing is bad, yes, the acting is abysmal, but OMG, did Arnold and Uma have a good time playing their villain roles.

I also love that final scene between Batman and Victor, and I can tell there's a dynamic between them which is thematic.
Bussyman, Bussyman, you're so great
You make this bussy feel so elate

Pack it, pound it, make it feel loved
With a touch of that velvet glove!

OWWW!

STOP REPEATING THE LIE THAT HAMAS KILLED 2 IDF SOLDIERS YESTERDAY.

They drove over an unexploded bomb, that had been dropped by Israel, in a bulldozer.

Israel used that as an excuse to murder 44 Palestinians.

Stop feeding Israel's lie.
For some reason, I have a strong urge to walk out into the street and yell"Bussyman!" At the top of my lungs.
He's fucking innocent! This is just another attack on a black, gay man, and I hate it.

Nas has a great life ahead of him.
And.... now hopefully this is something they can fix. I am worried because it was cut from the film, that Val Kilmer never recorded those lines in his Batman voice, the lines in the take they filmed are choppy and it's Val yelling in his normal voice. They were likely going to fix it in post.
Now there's one thing that does concern me....one of the deleted scenes is an extended scene of Batman fighting Dent on the helicopter , and he says the line "I tried to help you Harvey. Blaming it on me is insane."
OHH! Right. 😂

One can piece together what the Schumacher Cut might have looked like from these deleted scenes, but there are two scenes that where cut they DIDN'T put on the DVD.

I bet those scenes change the tone of the film, improving it.
So I can't comment on the Schumacher Cut but I would LOVE to see that! Based on what I have researched and the deleted scenes that are on the 2005 DVD edition, it looks like it would have been better than the theatrical cut.
YEEE! It may be campy, but it's fun, Fun, FUN!

I have not seen the Schumacher Cut, and I don't think you could have....cos it's not been released.
And Burton actually CAN direct an action scene. He doesn't tell the camera man to shake the camera at every punch and explosion to the point that it's vomit-inducing.
Sigh, agree to disagree.

But I do feel like my only criticism of Selina is the scene where cats woke her up. That always felt weird and it confuses my friends. They asked me "Is this how she became Catwoman in the comics?" And it's like...no. a cat biting her finger didn't make her Catwoman.
What ever man, At least Burton is a better director and storyteller than Zack Snyder, even if he can't articulate his vision properly.
Penguin is also a cautionary tale of why abandoning people who have potential can cause them to turn into your worst nightmare. That's my interpretation of Penguin's role in the story.

Secondly, his name is spelt Shreck, not Schreck.
Agree to disagree. I like the character as a film-only Batman villain. And I genuinely think if he where adapted into the comics like Harley Quinn was, he'd become a prominent member of Batman's Rogues Gallery.
If that ain't, depth, I don't know what is.

She's on a personal quest for vengeance against Shreck while also keeping an eye out for those like her.
Furthermore, his main story thread also involves abusing and attempting to kill Selina, which causes her to become Catwoman, starting her arc as a femme fatale who also protects the women of the city like her from being victims of man's greed.
Shreck manipulated Oswald into becoming Mayor cos he needed a lackey in office so he could greenlight his Power Plant which would have userped Gotham City of its energy.

I don't know about you, but the first half of that premise sounds vaguely familiar...and close to what goes in America rn.
