I have something I've been meaning to say for awhile.

Hello everyone,
After many months, I have decided it is time for me to retire from staffing.
The truth is- I have been unhappy for a very long time. I have stayed out of a sense of duty, to give back to the community that I feel in large part saved my life after covid.
I believe my debt is paid.
There have been many times I have thought about stepping away, times I hit send. Times where people knew what it was, that I was just hurting so much, but I still cared so much and had so much to give. That’s what I would say, each time. This year was different. It was more personal, more violent, and had greater consequences on my health- mentally and physically.
Now is just the time. It’s been time.
I’m doing this for me.
When people ask, I’ve always told them I am a competitor first. Someone has told me many times that one day, I would need to make a choice. Truthfully, I made it a long time ago.
I just want to play splatoon. I want to love the game.I want to focus on the people I cherish. I want to not be too stressed out to play splatoon. I want to make content, I want to compete, I want to commentate- There are so many moments of JOY that I want to experience with this game! I want to not have to worry. About my safety. My husband. About you.
I hope you understand, and that this makes sense. This has been on my mind for a very long time. Please, don’t DM me. If we are currently working on something- we will finish it. After that, no more. My DMs are for personal contact only. I will be there if needed, for advising, archiving, helping new TOs, or whomever picks up my torch. But I am no longer staff.
Thank you for the years of allowing me to serve this community. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

I can’t wait to fall in love with Splatoon again.
