A huge fan of the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, UConn BB, Bruins. First person to create a webpage focused on a NFL team’s salary cap. Consider it a coincidence and not a correlation the Pats’ success since my coverage of their salary cap started in 2001.

Neither will command top dollar, and it will depend on where they see him within the wider context of their defense in 2026 and beyond.

That said, I can see Hawkins command $8+ million per year, with Tonga at around $4-6 million.
How big are the raises for Hawkins and Tonga?

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept."

Astonishing thing for a judge to do.

Mason being older only supports keeping Onwenu as Mason started 49 games for three playoff teams after he was traded.
Maybe. Mason was older when they traded him I think. The worst player on the line right now is Wilson. Moving him to the right side may change the way teams attack him and put him in a better position to be successful.

My main thought was they need to look for tackle & edge rush upgrades in the draft & FA, but that's true for the vast majority of teams every season. So apart from that I was thinking:

- trade for AJ Brown
- extend Gonzalez
- sign or trade for a third RB to replace Gibson

Speaking of A.J Brown OvertheCap updated when his 2026 option is due. They previously had it as mid-March. They now have it as September 1st giving the Eagles plenty of time to trade Brown before his option payment is due AND the ability to have his dead money split over two seasons

1. One of the offseason priorities

2. Big question: Is Jared Wilson the LG or the C of the future?

3. Re-signing K'Lavon Chaisson is the first step, but shouldn't be the only one

4. Kyle Pitts might be a pipe dream. Ex-Titan Chigoziem Okonkwo, on the other hand...

5. Not a star, but a glue guy
On December 7th I posted "A friend asked what three moves I would make this off-season if I were the Patriots GM. They were in no order:
1. Extend Christian Gonzalez
2. Sign an interior offensive lineman
3. Sign an edge rusher"

I would also add
4. Signing a young TE
5. Extend Keyshon Boutte

trading him a year after Thuney signed with Kansas City was an awful 1-2 punch.

Yep. He's getting rid of his best OL man to put TWO other guys out of position -- Campbell and Wilson. Keep Campbell at LT, eventually move Wilson to his natural C position, draft LG and RT.

(1/2) There are several ways (Diggs, Barmore, Williams, Onwenu, Hollins) for the Patriots to increase their salary cap space.

Extending Gonzalez with a $30M APY deal would increase his 2026 cap number by $6.5M.
It's how the system works, but sadly, new deals for Gonzalez and Chaisson are going to make a big dent in that number.
$42m ain't what it used to be - and there's a Maye deal coming sooner than it might seem.

I can’t shake the feeling trading Michael Onwenu will be repeating the Shaq Mason trade mistake.

Your plan would make the Patriots worse at least two positions (LT and RG).
I would trade Owenu, move Wilson to RG, Campbell to LG, and draft the best LT available at 32. Then those other things.

The draft class is loaded with pass rushes, I think that would be a better path to take. And then resign K'Lavon Chaison. Plus the other things you recommend 👍

Looking for starters and depth pieces in positions that have been historically available in FA. RB, LB, Safety and TE come to mind. Leo Chenal, Kevin Byard (you know Vrabel won't be able to help himself) and Brian Robinson JR for example. Kyle Pitts could be a massive onfield upgrade for Holins.

I would definitely resign K’Lavon Chaisson. When I posted I would sign an edge rusher in free agency it would be to add to the Landry/Chaisson combination.
Miguel, would you re-sign K'lavon Chaisson?

My 2026 Patriots salary cap space number of $42,598,841 is higher than others because I am including a $5,554,386 incentive/guaranteed salary offset adjustment number in my projection for the 2025 AFC Champs' adjusted cap number of $356,279,254.

As part of their injury report, the Patriots played it down the middle by listing all nine players as questionable for Super Bowl LX.

That includes LB Robert Spillane (ankle) and DE/OLB Harold Landry (knee), who didn’t practice the last 2 days.
