You can try to spin the elimination of the department of education as nicely as you want, but at the end of the day, you decided education wasn't a cause worth spending federal money on.

When I was younger I wish I knew that having a common cultural history with your audience is a finite thing. I took for granted being able to have an idea, and know it would "work" because my target audience was people my age. Turns out unpublished ideas have a shelf-life.
