I know these types of sessions as ‘a beasting’. I’m sure every sport has their own version of a bag skate. EtH famously ran 14km with the players after a bad performance didn’t he so they must be familiar with the likes. Perhaps the United workload is limited due to injury concerns though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Some would argue that’s counterproductive because the United players would be fatigued for the next game. But your hockey players have an 80+ game season and are on the road much more than the EPL footballer is, aren’t they? I do genuinely wonder what goes on at Carrington though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Who knows?! It’s probably some evolutionary thing involving all of those factors, one that’s probably been driven by the thirst for money. It’s human nature to analyse things deeply, that’s what sets us apart as a species. I think maybe we’ve gone too far. Unshackle the players & let them express!!

🤣🤣🤣 It was bad. Worse than the Grim-sby debacle for me! 🫣

I feel like modern football has become an over-intellectualised sport. As Shankly said: Football is a simple game made complicated by people who should know better.

To be fair Dan he’s only 20yrs old & he said this a few weeks ago in an interview. I thought it was an interesting insight into the mindset at Carrington/Old Trafford and something we could all glean something from. You’re entitled to your opinion though. 🤝

FIFA’s Coach of the 20th Century, Rinus Michels, differentiates between predominantly coach led sports like the NFL and player led sports like football. But in C21st footy there’s less & less emphasis on player autonomy and more on coaches decision making. It’s sad that players are like robots now.

Reminder: First four tracks of ‘Joy As An Act Of Resistance’ are the greatest opening 4 songs in modern history. I’m yet to be convinced otherwise. Get it down your neck for goodness sake!

It’s never too late! You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don’t confuse me with emoji’s…what does that even mean⁉️ 🤔 🤷🏻‍♂️😂👴🏼

I’m sensing that the United part maybe wasn’t the topic he shouldn’t be talking about! 🤣🤣🤣 Speaking of music, did you get round to doing a deep dive on IDLES all those months ago??
November 25, 2025 at 9:56 AM
Hear, hear! It is tedious though when the players seemingly just need to pull their fingers out and put a shift in once a week. Losing with pride is acceptable. Losing through lack of effort’s not! Also, agree that Palace are using it to good effect cause they have the right profile of player.
November 25, 2025 at 9:49 AM
Valid point, Shane. I think the criticism of 3-4-3 stems from the fact that Conte’s CFC are said to be the only team that had any real success with it. But by that logic, everyone should be playing 4-4-2 because United won about 8 titles playing that way!!

“Try to be focused on the team. Don’t do any drama. Just speak with everyone, have a good relation. This is the best, I think, for the team. We cannot build something with bad energy or bad atmosphere or bad characters.”

All negative opinions are predictably taking flight after yesterday’s showing. I reckon the negativity-vortex is currently category 3; could be worse, could be better. What time can we expect the much needed TOTD??

Thanks Tim Berners-Lee but the human race just isn’t ready for the internet yet. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Say your piece, make your peace but try & draw the line at overreaction. Rest up because we’ve got one of those early kickoffs to look forward to on Sunday.🇾🇪

Shaw has been rightly criticised…but I’ve got to say he wasn’t the only player on that pitch who showed a lack of urgency in all respects.

🤣 Hope you’re feeling better soon, Nige.

Full-time verdict:

Maybe my memory is clouded by the sheer awfulness of what I’ve just watched but I can’t think of a worse performance from United under Amorim. Anyone jog my memory? Saw someone else say it at halftime but that does feel like they’ve regressed with that showing.

Did he go for it with the wrong arm??

Halftime verdict:

United’s engine room has no coal in it and is operating at about 0.5 horsepower. Completely underwhelmed by that first half. They thought the game was won when Gueye was harshly sent off. United to win 2-1, Casemiro & Fernandes to score nows I’ve slated them! 🤣
