I am passionate about British wildlife.
More evidence of the wholesale slaughter of British wildlife and people wonder why British farmland birds are facing a steep decline. People will look for any excuse to destroy and have done for years.

Another example of how barbaric we are as a nation especially in rural communities. People with guns seem to want to shoot anything that flies and probably do. Hence the decline in British birds especially farmland birds. They have no appreciation of wildlife and see it as an inconvenience.

Rooks are on the decline and it’s easy to see why. People living in rural farming communities seem hell-bent on destroying wildlife. They will tell people who move to the countryside that they have to accept what goes on. How wrong they are. Monitor them and report them.
Rookery
There's a big rookery a couple of fields from my farm and they are becoming a real nuisance. Presumably I can't make the landowner do anything about it? (wildlife area:mad:). Always been rooks there b...

Shocking! It’s usually linked to the shooting community and wealthy landowners normally get people like gamekeepers to do their dirty work. What’s sickening is that they are getting away with it. There’s so little enforcement when it comes to wildlife. People simply don’t care.
Absolutely shocking.

The UK has lost 73 million birds since 1970, nearly a third of its wild bird population, due to intensive agriculture, habitat loss and climate change. Once abundant species such as the starling and house sparrow are now on the Red List. Some species are in danger of becoming extinct.

Absolutely ghastly! Further proof that we are rapidly turning into the USA. I imagine that the loss of biodiversity will be enormous. 268 hectares. A Special Development Order. What power one individual has.

I’m more inclined to believe that people in the UK will opt for this rather than encouraging birds to nest. We need to do the latter to halt the decline in biodiversity.

It’s very patronising to be told when you move to the countryside that you have to accept the way that they do things. By that they mean that they expect you to suffer by seeing them blast wild birds out of the sky with shotguns and tear foxes to pieces with hounds. Don’t put up with it. Protest.
