Janice was an inspiration to many of us as student journos wondering what direction we might go in. She became a colleague, a pal and ally. Her importance to Scottish cultural scene is huge. Her legacy is indelible.

Last night, I turned a corner seconds after the 4A bus crashed into a railway bridge at Cook Street in Glasgow. Passengers were still on board, first aid was being given to the more seriously injured. I sincerely hope they make a full recovery.

My coverage from the scene is in today’s newspapers.
In the December edition of the world’s oldest magazine, The Scots, I’m speaking to one of the country’s most successful songwriters, Fran Healy, frontman of Travis.

The band play Glasgow Hydro on 21 December.
Was on hosting duties today in Edinburgh for the launch of series two of #TheRig, followed by Q&A with stars Iain Glen, Martin Compston, Emily Hampshire, Rochenda Sandall and Owen Teale. It’s tense stuff under the sea (in Leith).
Last week, I interviewed the living legend that is Tony Roper about coming out of retirement to play Granda Joe in the Celtic Charity Foundation video. Wrote this for @dailyrecord.co.uk.web.brid.gy
Glad to catch last night’s sublime gig by Rachel Sermanni at the Mackintosh church in Glasgow.

I spoke to her a few weeks back about the stories behind her latest songs, and touring her kids around in a camper van on tour.

You need to see The King’s panto in Glasgow to believe what Elaine C Smith does before the end of the first act.

Rab C would think he was getting the DTs.
