On Monday night I did my radio show. The Feature Album was Cecil Taylor Unit "AKISAKILA LP 1/2" (Trio Records). Listen back to this fine musical experience. www.pbsfm.org.au/program/ear-...
Well, we Drove back to Melbourne from the Southern Highlands Monday. That evening we went to Morbid Mondays at the Old Bar. Great music. Then onto my Radio show. Home and sleep for 3 hours.then the airport. They will be in their own homes soon.
The last show was the strangest show. We played without amps. We checked guitar. Sounds good. Bass sounds good. We started but they couldn't hear each other. No matter the small audience loved it. The venue's had a Livestream with multiple cameras. That was great.
Well, there were a lot more people at last night's gig than I was expecting. There were even young people there! A very good night was had by all. Thanks Norro for your VERY mixed bill. The Pot Belly Bar had a great sound.
Today the Paul Kidney Japanese Experience travel up to Canberra to play. Then we will go to Sydney and Woolongong. If you are in these towns please come and say hello. Buy some merchandise (to help pay for the trip) and especially to commune with us!
Mitsuru Tabata played a lot of songs last night. He pulled out a Boredoms piece, a 20 Guilders piece, a Zeni Geva piece even vocalised like me on a Paul Kidney Japanese Experience piece.
Last night at the Make It Up Club (A weekly improvisers night here in Melbourne Australia) Mitsuru Tabata did an exceptional set. He will be playing this evening at Footscray Records.
Last night on Ear of the Behearer Feature Album Robin Julian Heifetz "Heifetz Plays Heifetz" (Creel Pone 267). Mitsuru Tabata had a little talk about upcoming shows. I played almost the entire album Mitsuru Tabata + Ikuru "Paralytic"
Masami played a lovely set to a full room. He was proceeded by Mia Schoen who did her set with aplomb. After a break Sarita McHarg played a solo set of Sitar with her beautiful vocals. Stopping to tell us the history or the story of songs as she played. Then Masami and Tabata put in a delightful set
This afternoon Kawaguchi Masami will do a solo set at The Merri Creek Tavern about 3pm. At about 7pm Kawaguchi Masami will do a duo set with Mitsuru Tabata.
Great to get along to Shotkickers. The sound is always amazing. Cat Crawl were excellent. Gutsy. The Black Heart Death Cult were a lot better than I remembered them.. PKJE started HARD. We got some pretty bits in. Lots of twists and turns in the music (Mostly hard).
