Another #WalksOnWednesday in October? Must be another “close to home” pic to share! 😆 Many people are surprised to learn that October is one of our busiest months - comparable to June and August in some years!
Gray cloudy sky above an urban street scene of a row of buildings including a two story seventeenth century gray clapboarded wooden house and an abutting tall late 19th century building with a gift shop on the ground floor and apartments above.

Enjoy popular tunes of his era AND music inspired by his actions, as well as reflections on Revere and his legacy from our Massachusetts Poet Laureate, Regie Gibson. Reserve your spot today: bit.ly/48jRUw9y

Kind of a gray day but we’re always happy to see this view. Turns out Fall is also a busy season for us, so not a very long stroll for #WalksOnWednesday this week… maybe next week!
Stretch of an urban street lined with stone pavers and a brick lined sidewalk. In the middle a brick wall opens to reveal a gray wooden booth like structure. On the right is a two story gray clapboarded 17th century house and on the left is a long brick structure mostly out of the frame. A few people mill about on the sidewalk.

We are looking forward to a wonderful (FREE) talk in Lexington at the fascinating Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library, on October 16, at 6:00 PM, where WPI Prof. Steven Bullock will illuminate how participating in Masonic culture shaped Paul Revere's life. #RidingToRevolution bit.ly/3KBBKUL
Background is a sepia toned image of an engraving made in the 18th century with the largest legible word being Brother in script near the top. Overlaid on that is a blue box with gold writing which says: Within the Compass of Good Citizens: Paul Revere's Masonic Journey" and then the date in white October 16, 6 PM and SRMML. org at the bottom.

On this day in 1940, Boston’s Paul Revere statue was unveiled!

Around 8,000 people gathered to watch the big reveal, including the statue’s sculptor, 79-year-old Cyrus Dallin. He had waited 55 years since a committee had first selected his design to see the statue displayed.

Taking an indoor #WalksOnWednesday today to feature a very rare Paul Revere letter, currently on loan to us from Bruce R. Bartlett and only on display in our Visitor Center this month! Revere wrote it to his son Joseph Warren Revere in June of 1810. Come see it if you can!
