Dog-lover, avid reader of Golden Age detectives like to paint but have no time
Were all caught up in enjoying life. And it's a good thing to experience life . But I'm stuck right now in empathizing with what life has become for so many of us during the last year. There is so much want, disease, and violence, and war that I can hardly think of anything else. I feel very down.

If you have extra food in your pantry or cellar donate now. If you have money, fund those food pantries. Please give if you haven't already. Our neighbours who might not have as much as we do, and their children are suffering NOW. This morning I donated here in Valatie NY. Winter is coming.

For all my Airedale friends, I am sad to tell you that my Jiggs passed away yesterday of a long term illness. While we're all feeling very low in our house, we are glad that her suffering has ceased and that she's where all good dogs go and will wait for us there. We miss her very much.

I've noticed some suspect posts here. As if I were being baited to say something which might be interpreted in a bad way. My advice is to avoid getting wrapped up in your dialogues. If it smells bad, it IS bad. This is just common sense. Be aware of your chats.

My best wishes too, to the people of Canada on Thanksgiving Day. You have a nice country, good people, and a positive outlook. The one thing you don't have is, unfortunately, the very worst president in history, which we DO have. You can be grateful for not having that.

I read a lot of the posts here about how much of an asshole Trump is and what stuff he's doing to us. It's as if I open the news every day and read about a real life horror movie going on here where I live. I'm going to have to think harder about what to do myself. This can't continue

For a couple of years now, I've been reading the books of Rory Stewart, a British political figure and accomplished writer. His honest and very moving accounts of his travels, and his outlook suggest that he's not as appreciated by the public as fully as he might be. Why not?

After working for a few hours outside , I decided I had just about had it for the day. So here I am supping on homemade bread with butter, and a dish of fresh stewed tomatoes . I love this dinner. I only have it during the tomato season. But I have it every year.

So, Herr Oberfuhrer Trump's toady asked if the letters sent by his master sounded like they were anything that he might write. Well, the dialogue that goes with the notes and drawing sure do, actually. What pair of lying hypocritical creeps.

It's really disappointing to say the least to see how easy it is for people like John Cusack to drop hate screed concerning something he appears to know nothing about. The inability to feel any empathy at all except for his own position in the world marks him terribly. Another name on the list.

LMAO. She cheapens herself (if that can any longer be done) by this crude imitation of Jim Carrey. I'll never be able to watch The Mask again. WaaaaaaH !

My best friend is sleeping, and I just fished doing Wordle. I wish my toes were smaller though. The keyboard is a pain. He calls me Jiggs, but my real name is Sophie.

Wouldn't it be nice to live each day as if it were something to enjoy ? And look forward to friends and companions without a sense of a threat at every moment. This is what life can be, without any struggle to constantly assert your right to live here. Now, think about why we don't have this.

Congrats to you, you good dog. You look like a happy girl too. And pink is really your color. You look marvelous. I wish I could be there to give you a Birthday hug. This will have to do for the time being 🦴.

We have a relatively new walking trail near my house which has proven a real eye opener about how species can bounce back when given an opportunity. Yesterday I saw six different song birds, three native wildflowers, and lots of communicative walkers where none of these were seen in previous years.

I just read the very sad news of the death of a second child from measles in Texas. Now, two very young people have been lost to their families because the families chose not to vaccinate. I cannot imagine their grief. Nor can I imagine how this man can sleep at night, knowing he is responsible.

I'm an avid player of the Spellingbee on the NYT and after conquering the maze of the day, often search out and devise prospective candidates for the puzzle. Through lots of hours of trials I've found "the sweet spot", which is four consonants and three vowels. Try "RELATIVE" and "PRACTICE". 😇

The Golden Age of Mystery Writing has been a preoccupation of mine for a long time. I read them for the high quality prose and the details of social conditions during the period between the last two world wars. I have some favourites which I read and reread. Any other octogenarians out there ?

Almost every morning I'm awake early enough to make the coffee and wait until 3am for the NYT word games and am done with them most days by 4:20. A lot of days at exactly 4:20. I think it's a message.

I heard that the orange creep was fulminating about his enemies yesterday. I feel very neglected. I wasn't mentioned once. I should be on the list. I want my rights.

Aside from having success at the word games, I'm having one of the best days in a long time. My first batch of homemade yogurt turned out very nicely, and I got a delivery in the mail of the music from Philip Glass's Descent into the Maelstrom. It's wonderful music.🐕

Basically, I come here to find what's up. I read a lot, mainly old detective novels and literary fiction. I want so badly to paint, but I have difficulty visualizing. Any ideas?

I recommend that he stay out of El Salvador. With a last name like that and no citizenship, he could be rooming there in a poorly heated prison before he knows it. And no, you don't get to call your lawyer there.
