Both literally and figuratively.
And as long as Republicans keep bowing down to a moronic narcissist, the "home of the brave" is looking a little iffy as well.
US per capita income is actually not as high as it seems. You really need to adjust it downwards for the fact that US health-care costs are so high, without any added benefit. I think there needs to be about a -8% adjustment, in order to compare it with Europe or Canada.
Please excuse my friend here. He has been watching too many Hollywood movies. No, Canada has strict gun-controls. Hunting rifles and shotguns are okay, with permits, but everything else is seriously frowned upon, to say the least.
You live right next to Ontario, doctor. You already know the solution. Cut insurance companies out entirely, for medically-necessary care. The state should pay providers directly, from tax revenue, based on an agreed-upon fee schedule.

The U.S. experiment with profit-driven health care has failed
β€œThe market competition, managed care, and β€˜corporate efficiency’ that economists prescribed as the cure for health care inflation instead accelerated it.”

Join us in Canada. Canada would get a larger market and more clout. You'd get a much saner system of governance.
That is right. Even Putin and Netanyahu think that,
A popular uprising, followed by a new constitution. The country needs a clean break from the systemic problems that led to this. Yes, it can happen in America, and it sure looks like Trump is pushing things there.
Trump sees the US federal government as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Trump organization. He's trying to see how far he can go. His ultimate goal would be to have tax dollars directed straight into his personal bank-account, while he doles out money only where he himself sees fit.
The checks and balances in your constitution are illusory, and not worth the paper they're written on. Trump knows this. He IS setting himself up as a king.
It's also possible that Trump is on blood thinners. They reduce the ability of blood to clot, so there was more bleeding than there otherwise should have been.
It couldn't be anything else. The bullet didn't hit him, but it passed very close, like within a quarter inch. The ear has a lot of small blood vessels, plus there's Trump's age. His skin may be brittle. The combination of factors must have been enough to cause the bleeding.
If there's anything that confirms that America needs a parliamentary system of governance, rather than the ancient, dysfunctional one it has right now, this should be it.
Indians have been an integral part of Britain's wars, all the way till 1947, with millions being involved, directly or indirectly. Yet if you hear the way history is told, it was all about a brave island nation standing up, all by itself, against overwhelming forces.
Rand Paul disagrees strongly with Trump on this, as well as on tariffs. Yet, when asked, he says Trump is the best president ever. Same kind of thing happening with MTG. The dissonance is enough to make your head spin.
I don't understand this at all. Here in Canada, buildings like this would be considered to be of national importance, and there are committees who would decide how to renovate them, based on very strict guidelines. It would not be left to the whims of the temporary resident of that place.
I'm assuming you weren't carrying a passport. That's the normal requirement now, even between the US and Canada. Has been, since Bush the Younger.
When the GOP says they're working on health-care, they mean that they want people to be *completely* on their own, so that they can justify their tax-cuts for the rich. Their plan is no plans or programs, no subsidies, no nothing.
It's absolutely crazy. One man has way too much power under the American system. It worked as long as somewhat honorable and law-abiding people occupied the post. It is disastrous when someone like Trump comes to power.
Trump is showing you that the much-vaunted checks and balances in your Constitution, aren't worth the paper they're written on. One moronic, ignorant con-man, has circumvented them all, within months. Your entire system of governance needs to be re-thought from scratch. Tweaks won't do.
Yes, people should protest, but that is not the cure for what ails you. The problem is that the Constitution you keep claiming allegiance to, is the root cause of every one of your problems. Not denying its good points, but your system of governance needs complete change, not tweaks.
This is what his Jesus may actually have looked like, in real life.
Behind the mild mannerisms and librarian glasses, lies a total hypocrite.
