The new Dietary Guidelines are a mixed bag. It’s great to see more emphasis on fruits, vegetables, and limiting saturated fat—but they still promote meat and dairy, which are the top sources of that very same fat.

The WHO now recommends animal-free endotoxin testing instead of horseshoe-crab-blood-based tests. This protects coastal ecosystems and advances better science, following years of advocacy by the Physicians Committee to replace outdated animal methods.
