Jonah Scott is the GOH of Furlandia next year. That's actually pretty neat.

I would attend if the estimated cost didn't exceed $1000 all in. I can't justify that. I'll just feel stressed the entire time knowing I just spent four figures on something that I won't get my money back on.

My 22 Kona EV is a perfect example. Lots of buttons! It just makes sense. I don't even mind the "base" infotainment screen. It's just right.

I'm excited for more small-ish EVs that are designed to be a car and not a giant iPad.

I need physical buttons, not haptic feedback.

I'm completely fine with having it as my only car, but I often find myself kind of bored with it? I enjoy the instant torque of electric, but it's also just completely soulless.

Working on cars was my occasional hobby and now I don't have that right now.

Hoping to change that soon.

Seriously considering buying a second car again.

Look, I like my Kona EV, but there's no denying that it's basically an appliance. At the end of the day, it got me from point A to B, and it works well as a rideshare and delivery vehicle.

I miss working on internal combustion engines.

Convention center cons > Hotel cons any day of the week. Fight me.

I'm glad that @getoutthefloat.com and @furvana.bsky.social are reasonable in terms of overall attendance cost, hotel costs, and other expenses due to the city they are in. They are a little bit of a splurge, but well within a modest budget.

Meanwhile, my most local con 100% feels like a luxury.

You shouldn't have to go into debt over discretionary spending like this. And saving money isn't always an option for people.

I can comfortably attend GOTF and can stretch a little for Furvana.

Furlandia is a complete luxury and not worth it to me anymore.

I don't think anyone should go into debt over discretionary spending. It's just a bad financial move.

Not everyone has the luxury of saving up money either.

I'm literally paycheck to paycheck and can't afford to attend. I don't need further advice from anyone.

Sorry for all of that. I've been stressed and clearly need a vacation. And a new living situation.
pdxfoxdad27.bsky.social
I'm just going to attend GOTF and Furvana (if they get their shit together). Both of which never exceeded $600 or $700 total to JUST attend a local con.

Feeling a little smug knowing my vehicle operating costs are significantly lower than everyone else's cars in the household 😂

I'm an Uber driver in war ravaged Portland

Also just in case I want to maintain maximum efficiency, this sticker tells people my car is slow 😂

Roughly translates to "First Please" but honestly please just go around lol

Otis has Chargepoint DCFCs that are subsidized by the local power company, there's Electrify America in Newport, and EVCS in Lincoln City.

Also a bunch of level 2 chargers in both Newport and Lincoln City. So yay.

This wouldn't be possible 10 years ago.

Further proving that a 40 kwh-60 kwh battery is easily enough for a one way trip. Even at 70% SOC I'd have enough range with a 50 mile buffer. That's crazy.
pdxfoxdad27.bsky.social
Excited to go to Newport at the end of the month for my birthday.

It will be the first roadtrip I take in an EV. It's going to be a piece of cake since it's only 122 miles one way.

Thankful that the electric vehicle charging infrastructure has gotten pretty good in the past five years or so.

I agree with the context of the video. Big box stores are often selling inferior "upgrades" to the general public that has really no knowledge or interest, other than "meh, good enough". I've done LED conversions on all my cars for years and never had any issues - but your own mileage will vary.
pdxfoxdad27.bsky.social
Always looking forward to these!

Guess I'm going back to the Sims 1 and 2 which are old enough to be abandonware

EA selling to the worst possible country is not surprising

On top of increased DMV fees, we will have to track our miles to get charged extra for the road use or pay an annual fee.

Completely idiotic.
