Oh absolutely. I am at my happiest when I’m on the road… or lying in a tent in the wilderness. The problems of the world seem to fade into the background and it’s just me and my heartbeat.

(And my achy knees!)
This trip really reminded me that I need to rehab my legs before Spain in April, that clocks in at around 1500m of climbing per day for 14 days. Why do we do this to ourselves Pete?
Essential after these mammouth rides huh? Knees are going to take a few days to get back to normal! And then I’ll screw then up again. 😂
And the photos of the trip are on my Instagram if you are interested!

DIY Belgium orbital done! 1040km and 58 hours in the saddle. My knees now hate me. 🤘

Oh man… what a beauty! 😍
As is tradition, two foot of gaffer tape has been carefully wrapped around my seat tube in case of an emergency! Now, next stop Dunkirk tomorrow morning.

I was due to head into the Basque region for two weeks but my gravel bike has a fault. Instead we’re doing an 800km loop of Belgium on the road bikes. Not as much sun but it’ll be fantastic all the same. 🚴
3 days until my next bikepacking adventure... I really can't wait. I've spent my lunch looking at previous trips and found a photo of the evening we had to walk 8km across peat bog to get to the Crask Inn. I was so knackered that I trailed far behind the husband.. but the view speaks for itself! ❤️
So, weirdness today with a certain language app. Just been recommended I team up with a colleague here in my office. Not a problem, but they are not one of my contacts, we're not connected on social media, never interacted in any way over mobile. But on further investigation....
Looks amazing Craig.... I hope that made up for the crap weather!
Oh yes! They are great bikes… mine is hitting a decade now and still going strong.
Thanks Will… I can’t wait to get out there under the stars! Been a long winter, that’s for sure!
Oh nice! You are going to love it.
That's two weeks worth of kit loaded onto my trusty Condor, ready for 800km of Belgian trails. Now, fingers crossed for a lot of waffle stops en route!
The team at Condor are amazing Rich! My Condor Fratello is now approaching her 10th year on the road and she's still as good as when I bought her. Hope you'll share photos soon. 🤘
The Badger? Have an absolute blast Lucy.
My lord, I’ve been a London cyclist for almost 30 years and never see it so gridlocked. Huge queue of bikes trying to get through Parliament Sq tonight… backed up over the Westminster Bridge! 🫣

Ah Jon, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can get out on the trails soon! You really deserve that fresh air and a chance to sleep under the stars. ❤️
And the link to the complete (untested!) route is on my bio link if you wanna see how flat this is! The whole 11 days is not even half of each day in Spain!!
With Spain on hold till spring, this morning has been a lot of planning. We've now got a 850km loop of Belgium with a bit of France & Germany thrown in. While I am gutted not to be in Spain, sleeping out on the High Fens again is going to be amazing. Hopefully it won't be -4c and snowing this time!
Alas, the news came this week that my gravel bike won't be ready in time for the Spanish trails. So, rather than cancel the leave, I'm going to do an orbital route around Belgium on the road bike instead. Fingers crossed I can pack a tent and 11 days of kit on it! Gutted, by safety comes first.
And just found the evidence of my Electro Clash past: red mohawk, black shirt and tie, with plastic gun! And yikes, no beard! Must have been 2002?
New albums by Chicks on Speed and Ladytron have dropped. Am I ready for the Electroclash revival? Hold my craft beer!!! 😂
